About
Rudolf Höss was commandant of Auschwitz from 1940 to 1943 and returned for a major role in 1944. Under his command, Auschwitz grew into the largest Nazi concentration and killing camp complex.
Höss testified after the war and wrote about the camp while held by Polish authorities. Poland tried and executed him at Auschwitz in Apr 1947.
